  • Brinjal: 1no.
  • Drumstick: 1no.
  • Grated Coconut: 1cup
  • Redchilli: 6nos.
  • Coriander Seeds: 1tsp.
  • Pepper: 1tsp.
  • Small onion: 6nos.
  • Curry Leaves: small quantity.
  • Tamarind: 1 lime- sized-ball
  • Salt: 2tsp.
  • Seasoning:

  • Oil: 1tsp.
  • Onion: 2nos.sliced.
  • Mustard seeds: 1tsp.
  • Curry Leaves : little qty.
  • Garlic Flakes: few.
  • Method:

    1. Boil the vegetables
    2. Mix the tamarind extract to the ground paste and add to the boiled vegetables
    3. Add more water and boil for 15 minutes.
    4. After getting the required thickness do the seasoning

    Fry coconut,redchillies,corianderseeds,pepper and the small onions into honey brown colour and grind.

    Cut brinjal length wise and the drumstick into 1 inch piece.
    the tamarind extract
    Take little water .Put tamarind and salt .Soak well and take the extract by squeezing.Strain and use only the extract.
    the seasoning
    Heat oil in a kadai .Add mustard seeds ,curry leaves.garlic,onion and fry.Pour this hotmixture to the theeyal and immediately cover with a lid.
